Description

Here's a rather small but interesting pair of interacting galaxies. NGC 7253A and B are to be found in Pegasus although they are a bit faint for visual observation. Both around mag 14 and about 2' x 1' in size. Distance around 200 MLy, so they will look quite different by now.

Also known as Arp 278, this is classified in the 'Interacting double galaxy' class. There is evidence of diffuse material between the galaxies and a lot of action appears to be going on.

Could do with a bit larger image scale. 90 minutes total exposure made up of 45 x 2min exposures through my 10" / H9C OSC camera combination as usual.
